This cookbook is the type that was included with the purchase of an electric kitchen appliance. The intention of this sort of cookbook was to train the housewife how to use her new appliance and encourage her to use all the features on the appliance.
Sunbeam included this particular edition with the Sunbeam Multi-Cooker Frypan. This appliance is commonly known today as an electric skillet. The first few pages of the book are dedicated to technical instructions on “Use and Care” of the appliance.
Don’t you love looking through old cookbooks? I always feel like a time traveler when I open a cookbook and read the recipes. The ingredients are sometimes “unusual” compared to what we use today. The measurements sometimes are intriguing. The pictures fascinate me! This book is no exception…
Printed with large color photos throughout, this book appears to hardly have been used. Recipes have a small sketch of the Sunbeam Electric appliance that would be used in preparation. For example, one recipe has both a blender and fry pan.
